Hello, my name is Amy and welcome to my blog. I am a student at the University of Regina and I am pursuing a career in Education. It has taken me a long time and a winding journey to get here but I am so excited to be here. I lived in Dubai when I was in grade eleven, I have a Business Certificate from the U of R, I am a Journeyman hairstylist, I worked as a Resident Director for a Christian private boarding school, backpacked Europe for three months and dabbled in opera singing and photography. Life experiences teach different kinds of lessons than the classroom (not more or less valuable), but I wouldn’t take back any of them. I know that the experiences I’ve had in the past 15 years will help me to provide a well-rounded view and understanding for the diversity that will enter my classroom. I am learning about the kind of teacher I want to be, the expectations that I have and the example I want to be for my students. I am so excited to continue learning about what being a teacher encompasses. I am eager to continue my lifelong opportunities to learn, through books, or life experiences.
